Sockwell's graduated compression socks provide amazing style and comfort whilst keeping your feet and legs supported and healthy. However, with all the styles and colours to choose from comes a higher chance of indecision.
The first question you should ask yourself is, what are you going to use them for? Sockwells provide graduated compression, which means they provide the most amount of pressure around your ankles and reduces in pressure as they go up your leg. They keep the blood from pooling in the ankles and help circulate it back to your heart.
Travelling on flights to avoid ankle swelling and the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) would make Sockwell graduated compression socks ideal for you. If you stand or sit for extended periods of time, such as at work, these socks will keep your blood pumping and your energy flowing throughout the day, as well as provide plenty of support for the arches of your feet. For exercise, such as cardio workouts, weight-lifting or general sports, the graduated compression can not only help your circulation, but also reduce muscle soreness, helping you to recover more quickly. For hiking and trekking, Sockwell’s merino wool content will keep you from getting too hot or too cold on your outdoor journey.
For a little extra help, here at SockTech, we’ve made it easy to find the socks you need by dividing them into categories for Travel & Everyday, Sports & Recovery and Hiking & Trekking. This way, you can find what you’re looking for with ease.
The next thing to choose is your compression level. Sockwells come in two compression levels: moderate (15-20 mmHg) and firm (20-30 mmHg). Both levels are good for general use, however, if you don’t want your compression socks to be too tight, it’s best to go with moderate compression. If your needs require peak support, then it’s a good idea to go with firm compression.
Also, when choosing moderate or firm compression, take into account your calf size. If you have larger calves, moderate compression will work best for you. For slender calves, choose firm compression.
Next thing to choose is the size of your compression socks. Women’s sizes come in small/medium and medium/large. Small/medium correlates to European sizes 35-38 (UK 2-5.5); medium/large is equal to European sizes 39-43 (UK 6-9). For men, the sizes range from medium/large to large/extra-large. Medium/large covers European sizes 39-43 (UK 6-9.5), whilst large/extra-large includes European sizes 44-47 (UK 10-12.5).
Finally, choose what socks you like based on the look. Sockwell’s graduated compression socks have many colours and styles to choose from, which makes it easy to coordinate with your wardrobe or personality. For a fancy flight, you can choose Damask in black or navy. Want to put a ring on it? Try Circulator, available in several great colours for men and women.
